the gift of oil is delighted to welcome back our Early Harvest Sicilian Olive Oil. This is a single varietal, single estate olive oil crafted on the Disisa estate, Northern Sicily, by the The Di Lorenzo family . The olives were handpicked and then cold pressed immediately using the latest technology to ensure absolutely no heat is created in the process. Traditionally in Sicily and the rest of Europe, olives are harvested in November/December, when the olives are at their largest. The Cerasuola olives that were cold pressed to create this luxury olive oil were harvested in October, whilst still very green. This gives the oil an incredibly fresh, green and robust flavour which makes it a fantastic dipping oil or salad dressing.
Early harvest olive oil also has even more health benefits than the already well known benefits of extra virgin olive oil, due to the higher levels of chlorophyll and anti-oxidants in the olives when they are pressed. This oil is literally packed with 595mg per kilo of polyphenols! If you are looking for an olive oil to drink as part of a “feel good, live longer” regime, then this is the oil for you! You can also use this premium olive oil to drizzle over mashed potatoes, meats, seafood, roasted vegetables, bruschetta, into soups… you simply can’t go wrong!
