We sell a range of aged traditional balsamic vinegars online that we source and import from artisan, family producers in Modena, Italy. We only work with producers of
‘Condimenti’ or ‘Tradizionale’ balsamic vinegar which are of the highest quality, so that our website contains the finest balsamic vinegar range.
Our range of traditional balsamics begins with our two ‘Condimenti’ balsamics: the
Classic Balsamic Condimento and the
Reserve Balsamic Vinegar. These are made by
the Verrini family from Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes that they have grown, picked and aged on their estate to the North of Modena.
Then we have a range of ‘Tradizionale’ aged balsamic vinegars, or
‘aceto balsamico tradizionale di Modena’ that range up to 100 years old.
Firstly our
Vintage balsamic vinegar, produced by
Mr Tagliavini on his estate in Modena. This is not certified as a ‘Tradizionale’ balsamic vinegar by the “Consortium of Producers of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena” simply because it is not bottled in Modena. It has been aged for 12 years and uses the
exact tradizionale method. Our vintage balsamic is a way to get the superb quality of aged tradizionale balsamic at a much lower cost.
We also import four tradizionale balsamic vinegars which have been certified by the consortium. The Mussini family specialise in producing very old balsamic vinegar and have been doing so since 1890.
These are produced in the ancient method that has been practiced and refined since the
11th century; transferring Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes through a variety of barrels or ‘batteria’ which are made from different woods to give an incredible depth of flavour to the balsamic. They hold D.O.P. status, and are certified by The Consortium of Producers of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena to be authentic, aged balsamic vinegars.
